Basement Hideout

Over the last 50 years there has been millions of musicians creating millions of albums many of which never actually made it out to the masses. Often times the few copies that did get released end up in the basement of local thrift and record stores never to be heard again. In some cases that's a good thing but, whoever made that music did so because they wanted to share it with people. I want to give some of those artists a second chance. I hope you will enjoy what I post on this blog for what it is.

Clearwire is a joke

So really sorry ya'll. I hit this blog hard when I first started it. I have soooo much more to share with you. I know I promised a few new ones and I have them all recorded and ready to go. One of my roommates just left the house and with them they took the cable Internet. I dusted off this clearwire modem I had and hooked it back up...it only uploads (anything anywhere) at about 6kb per second which makes uploading albums an overnight affair. Our ISP should be reactivating our service next week so I'll be back and business with all kinds of new goodies! Thanks to all of you that have been visiting and enjoying my shares. I will go back through and re-up anything that isn't working anymore as well. Sit tight and thanks for the patience.

Al Wilson- Show and Tell

"Oooooooooh girl, show and tell. Just a game I play, when I wanna say I love youuuu!"

Oh man, the last girl I said that to punched me straight in the sack. Based off the amazing album cover I am assuming Senor Wilson had way better luck than I did when he poured out those sweet ass lyrics.

This one came out in 1973 and stupid wikipedia doesn't even list it as one of his albums. I find that kind of strange since it has his only #1 US Pop Billboard hit.

This album simply kicks ass in my opinion. Good old soul music, the coolest suit I've ever seen, and possibly the exact same yellow Rolls that you see on the album cover of my last post.

"Queen of the Ghetto" is my personal favorite. You gotta love a funky song about a guys mom becoming the neighborhood tramp so that he can have a good life. (Edit Made to appease offended parties. I'm sorry I'm not sorry that I can be offensive sometimes....whatever).

Ooo... also check out "My Song." I think my buddy and I sampled that one a while back. It's rad. And, "Moonlightin," I hate having to call out ladies for leavin cigarette butts in the ashtray that weren't my brand, sneaky ladies.

Anyway ya'll. Enjoy this piece of vinyl as I think you can only get his greatest hits CD now. Got this as a Japanese import yeaaaars ago. Quality is aight, couldn't get the skips out on track b4.....

Check check check it out!
